Softball: Yuter's hit gives Vernon Hills walk-off win

Quin Yuter's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Vernon Hills' softball team a 5-4 win over visiting Deerfield in Central Suburban League action Friday.

The win was the fifth in a row for the Cougars (10-10, 5-1).

Rachel Wright (2 doubles) and Caeli Kinsella were both 2-for-3 for Vernon Hills, and Brooke Pieper had a single and 2 RBI. Madison Johnson went the distance in the circle, allowing 1 earned run and striking out seven.
