Alleghany Road closure

Alleghany Road in Grayslake will be closed to through traffic starting at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5. Village officials said representatives from the Metra commuter rail system informed the Lake County Division of Transportation that Alleghany will be closed from Peterson Road on the south to Route 120 on the north. The road closure is necessary for Metra to repair the existing railroad crossing just south of Route 120. Officials said Alleghany is expected to reopen to traffic sometime late afternoon Sunday, Aug. 7.
