Boys track: Carmel qualifies three to state

Richmond-Burton sectional: On Wednesday night, competing in the Class 2A sectional in Richmond, Carmel Catholic advanced three individuals to state and finished in eighth place in the 14-team field.

Freeport won the sectional championship with 84 points, nine more than runner-up Marengo. Carmel tallied 28 points.

Carmel junior Sam Wahlers won the pole vault, clearing 13 feet, 6 inches. The Corsairs also qualified for state senior Zach Friese in the shot put (43-5.25) and sophomore Tim Milner in the high jump (5-11).
