New president named for Riley Hospital for Children
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health has a new president.
IU Health announced Friday that Matthew Cook will begin duties at the Indianapolis Hospital on April 4.
IU Health Chief Operating Officer Al Gatmaitan says Cook takes over at "a time of critical expansion for Riley." Among other responsibilities, he'll oversee the development of a comprehensive maternity and newborn health specialty practice.
The 47-year-old Cook has served as executive vice president of strategic planning and business development at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. During his four-year tenure there, he redesigned the strategic planning process, including developing a five-year strategic plan for the 161-year-old hospital and increased the growth of international patients and net revenue.
