Grave Reminders Cemetery Walk comes to St. Charles

After more than a decade, the St. Charles History Museum, in collaboration with the St. Charles Park District, will offer interactive tours of St. Charles' North Cemetery.

Tour guests will visit the North Cemetery grave sites of historical St. Charles figures who shaped the unique character of our city. Participants will "encounter" a historical figure and listen as they share short monologues about their lives, their joys, and their sorrows. Museum Executive Director Alison Costanzo stated: "Grave Reminders is a wonderful interactive experience. What better way to get ready for the Halloween season than touring North Cemetery while also "encountering" St. Charles' historical figures. This will definitely be a memorable experience."

Grave Reminders will run from Saturday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tours depart every 15 minutes from the hour, and parking will be available in the lower parking lot at Bethlehem Church, 1145 N. Fifth Ave. in St. Charles. A trolley will leave from Pottawattamie Park (Third Ave.) and proceed to North Cemetery throughout the day.

Children, age 15 or younger, must be accompanied by an adult. The cost to attend is $5 for St. Charles residents and $8 for nonresidents. Children, age 5 and under, attend for free.

Preregistration is encouraged. For more information on registration, interested guests are encouraged to contact the St. Charles Park District at (630) 513-6200 or visit www.stcparks.org.
