Amazon begins operations at three suburban centers

Amazon recently began operations at three of its local fulfillment centers in Waukegan, Aurora and Monee.

The facilities are Amazon's seventh, eight, and ninth fulfillment centers in the state, creating more than 1,500 full-time, full-benefit jobs in Illinois.

At the 850,000 square-feet facility in Monee and the 600,000 square-feet facility in Waukegan, employees will pick, pack and ship small items to customers such as books, electronics and consumer goods, while the nearly 1-million-square-feet facility in Aurora will handle larger items like household decor, sporting equipment and gardening tools.
