Des Plaines eying Oakton Street corridor
The Des Plaines City Council meets Monday night to discuss hiring a consultant to develop an improvement plan for the Oakton Street corridor.
The Chicago-based Lakota Group is in line for the $38,240 contract. Recommendations for land use, landscaping and other street-level aesthetic improvements and parking are expected, city documents indicate.
If hired, the firm will facilitate community discussions, develop designs and come up with a subsequent action plan.
Monday’s council meeting is set for 7 p.m. at city hall, 1420 Miner St. The meeting will be livestreamed at desplaines.org.
