Rosemont offers to sell land to office building owner

Rosemont has extended a purchase option to an office building owner for vacant property the village owns between Higgins Road and the Jane Addams Tollway.

The roughly two-acre property is next to the six-story 1700 Higgins Centre building, which may soon gain another tenant, officials say. The village is giving the owner the option to buy the land for $600,000. After a year, the price will go to $630,000.

The village bought the land, which sits within the city of Des Plaines, with the idea of building outdoor tennis courts.
