Lincolnshire art fest goes on, but with precautions in place
Beautiful weather greeted visitors Sunday as they strolled past the artists presenting their work at the Lincolnshire Art Walk.
They also were met with a host of COVID-19 safety precautions, including temperature checks at the gate, a face covering requirement, staggered entrances for the guests and exhibitor booths spread safely 10 feet apart.
"Everything is completely different this year," said Lindsey Dickinson, vice president and director of operations for show organizer Amdur Productions.
Visitors were counted going in and a limit on the number people touring the art walk was kept.
Because of the pandemic, the number of exhibitors this year was reduced 25 from the typical 125. Among them was Jennifer Akese-Burney of Akese Stylelines from Schaumburg, who was selling colorful clothing and masks.
"I feel that people really need to interact with others to share your creativity," Akese-Burney said after selling some of her brightly colored masks to Eileen Share of Northbrook.
