Long Grove resident honored for work at children's hospital

Long Grove resident Randy Markowitz has received an honor for his volunteer work with La Rabida Children's Hospital in Chicago.

Markowitz, a partner at professional services firm FGMK, received La Rabida's Lifetime of Service Award for what was described as his "unwavering support" of the hospital.

A La Rabida board trustee, Markowitz received the kudos last week at the 2019 Friends of La Rabida Awards Celebration at the Ritz Carlton Chicago to honor community leaders who have shown a commitment to children with special health care needs.

The event raised $765,000 to support the organization.
