Watch Lake Zurich village president candidates debate the issues

Watch the candidates for Lake Zurich village president take part in a joint interview with a representative of the Daily Herald Editorial Board.

The 49-minute exchange between incumbent Village President Tom Poynton and former village Trustee Jeffrey Halen was recorded Feb. 25 on Zoom. The candidates discussed issues ranging from downtown development to village's handling of the COVID-19 crisis, and each gave their ideas for making the community better.

The election takes place on April 6. Mail-in and early in-person voting begins in Lake County on March 12.
