Back to School Campfire is perfect summer sendoff
Say so long to summer by gathering around a campfire, roasting marshmallows and taking a rustic wagon ride through the prairie.
Back to School Campfire is set for 8 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
"This is a festive event to mark the start of the school year," said Dave Brooks, manager of conservation services. "It's a neat opportunity to get families out in nature."
Admission is $2 per person. Registration is not required.
