Public keeps electing selfish politicians
I am writing this so people will understand the purpose of a minimum-wage increase. This is not to benefit you, it is to help the government generate more taxes without you knowing it.
Think about this. As your income increases, so does your tax base. The higher your wages, the more taxes you will pay. That means the more money for local state and federal governments.
Also the prices of items you buy will also go up. Simple economics. Since local taxes are a percentage of what you spend, that means you will pay more taxes for the items. Again more money for these agencies.
Giving a part-time employee sick pay will cost a small company a minimum $330.00 a year per employee.
Many small businesses' profit margins are so thin that they could not afford this. Again, somebody has to pay for it. Cost goes up, more tax revenue for the government.
