Waukegan Park District to host local vendor fair
The Waukegan Park District will hold a Vendor Bridging Fair from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Field House Sports, Fitness and Aquatics Center.
More than 100 local vendors have been invited to participate in this inaugural event that is designed to connect local vendors and contractors with the Waukegan Park District, other governmental agencies and the public.
Vendors are encouraged to participate in the fair, including: landscapers, building and construction companies, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, architects, equipment rental agencies, caterers, printers, promotions vendors, special events and more. There is room for 100 vendor booths.
Vendors will meet with Waukegan Park District staff from 10-10:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend from 10:30 to noon, and the Waukegan Park District staff will make a presentation on how vendors can prepare themselves to win contracts with the district from noon to 12:30 p.m.
Included in the presentation will be laws that govern the district regarding contracts and the quoting, bidding and selection process.
Vendors or trades personnel interested in participating should contact Quincy Bejster at (847) 782-3625 or qbejster@waukeganparks.org. There is no vendor fee. Vendors will be supplied a table and chairs, and are encouraged to bring promotional materials and displays of their services.
The public is invited to attend the Vendor Bridging Fair from 10:30 a.m. to noon. It will be an opportunity to meet professionals who can assist with home improvements.
