Bartlett woman charged twice with child endangerment
A 32-year-old Bartlett woman was charged with misdemeanor child endangerment Thursday after leaving young children home alone - less than two months after she received the same charge for similar reasons, police said Friday.
Danielle Dumelle, of the 500 block of Ladysmith Road, was released on bond for both arrests and has a scheduled court appearance June 4 at the DuPage County Courthouse in Wheaton.
Dumelle was first arrested March 23 after an anonymous tip led police to discover her 3-year-old daughter home alone while Dumelle was at a Hanover Park bar at about 11 p.m., police said. On Thursday, police said, a request for a well-being check at 11 p.m. led police to discover Dumelle's 12-year-old and 3-year-old daughters home alone, with the younger girl locked in her bedroom, while their mother was at the Hanover Park bar.
Other family members were contacted to watch the children on both occasions. Police said they have been in contact with the Department of Children and Family Services.
