Geneva Lions Club invites community to make a difference

The Geneva Lions Club is seeking civic-minded men and women to join them in making a difference in St. Charles and Geneva through service. Volunteering at the club's annual brat stand at the corner of James and Third streets during the Swedish Days Festival, June 21-26, in Geneva, is a fun and entertaining place to start.

The brat stand is one of the longest running outdoor stands at the festival, operated by the oldest and largest service club in Geneva, the Geneva Lions Club founded in 1937. The Lions' motto is "We Serve," and the Geneva Lions Club has lived up to it. For 79 years, the club has operated the brat stand, held pancake breakfasts, raffles, and many other activities to raise funds that provide support to local and international charities.

"Our club gives members an opportunity to advance worthy causes, serve with friends, and become leaders in the community. This club means a lot to our Lions, but it means so much more to the people we serve," said Lion President Jay Moffat. "We want to share the great things we're doing in the community and let others know how they can help."
