River Road closures to begin this week in Des Plaines

The north half of River Road in Des Plaines will be closed from Oakton Street to Algonquin Road from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Friday so crews can pour new concrete, city officials said Monday.

A detour route via Oakton Street, Mannheim Road and Algonquin Road will direct traffic around the road closure. The northbound lane will reopen in the evenings, but the southbound lane will remain closed.

The south half of River Road will be closed from Oakton to Touhy Avenue from 6 a.m. Monday, June 20, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 22. Traffic will be detoured via Touhy, Oakton and Mannheim.

Access to driveways will be temporarily closed the day prior to the concrete pavement pours.
