Elgin Donor Club donates $10,000 to local charities
Last year, Donor Club of Elgin members personally donated a total of $10,000 to local charities when the annual book review and luncheon had to be canceled due to COVID-19.
This annual event will be postponed until Sept. 22, 2022, due to the pandemic, and again the membership will donate to help local charities.
Last year's recipients included Ecker Center for Behavioral Health, Community Crisis Center, PADS of Elgin, One Hope United, Fox Valley Hands of Hope, ECC Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Elgin, Food For Greater Elgin, and All People's Interfaith Food Pantry.
The club members also bring items to each monthly meeting for the local organizations they continue to support. June donations were made to the Community Crisis Center.
This past year when people have suffered so much the members of the Donor Club stepped forward with personal contributions.
The Donor Club hopes those who have attended the book review in the past will consider a personal donation this year to any of the above organizations.
In the fall of 2022, look for the return of the Donor Club annual book review and luncheon including a dramatic book review by Jenny Riddle, cookie and book sales, and raffle baskets.
