Important questions remain on red lights

Ms. Pyke's reporting on red lights lacks answering reasonable obvious questions. Was there an increase in traffic at some intersections? Are there more accidents in recent years?

Are more accidents caused by texting and other driver failures currently versus previously? Are drivers today more aggressive and less safety orientated?

My observation is that drivers (including me) are more careful at red-light camera intersections so I am in favor of having them. But, shouldn't we be aggressively pursuing how to improve our driving safety?
