Westminster Christian wins regional opener

Westminster Christian opened play in the Class 1A Harvest Christian regional with a 47-42 victory over Christian Liberty on Monday.

The Warriors (7-20) advance to face Harvest Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Keely Frens scored a game-high 16 points for Westminster. Emily Lamp (9 points, 15 rebounds) and Elise VanNoord (11 points, 9 rebounds) just missed double-doubles while Mica Glanzer finished with 6 points and 9 rebounds.

Burlington Central 59, IMSA 18: The Rockets (12-14) cruised behind 17 points from Kathryn Schmidt, and 7 each by Madelyn Menke, Madelynne Drescher and Mackenzie West.
