'ButterBurgers & Badges' fundraiser Thursday in Lake Zurich

Local police officers will provide table service to customers at Culver's in Lake Zurich on Thursday, Aug. 29, as part of the "ButterBurgers & Badges" fundraiser for Special Olympics Illinois.

The event takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant, 645 N. Rand Road. Officers will collect tips for their service, which along with $1 for every purchase of any size Concrete Mixer will benefit Special Olympics.

Local Special Olympics athletes will be on hand to greet guests and sign autographs.

"ButterBurgers & Badges" is part of a monthlong initiative by many Culver's locations that includes participating stores' proudly displaying "Change for Champions" donation canisters near counter areas.

Special Olympics Illinois provides year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
