Ticket inquiry: Hickey leaves hospital, speaks to Rio police
RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) - Ireland's Olympic committee says Patrick Hickey has left a Rio de Janeiro hospital and is speaking to police about a ticket scalping investigation.
The Olympic executive was arrested in the IOC's hotel at the Rio Games on Wednesday, but was immediately taken to a hospital because of chest pains.
The 71-year-old Irishman spent the night in hospital and temporarily stepped aside from his IOC roles, including being the top Olympic official in Europe and head of his national Olympic body.
The Olympic Council of Ireland said in a statement Thursday that Hickey has been discharged from the hospital and has been "accompanied to a police station to complete a deposition."
