Fire causes $100,000 damage to Hoffman Estates home
No injuries were reported Saturday after fire broke out in a Hoffman Estates home, causing an estimated $100,000 in damage, authorities said.
Firefighters from the Hoffman Estates Fire Department called to the two-story home in the 3400 block of Wilshire Drive arrived at 5:40 p.m. Saturday to find smoke coming from the roof over the garage. The fire involved the rear exterior of the garage and extended into the attic, officials said.
Residents told firefighters no one was in the home and everyone was accounted for.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 10 minutes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities said.
