Appalachian Christmas Quartet returns to Elgin for holiday concerts

The Appalachian Christmas Quartet returns to Elgin for three Christmas folk concerts featuring more than 100 instruments. The concerts are free, though donations are welcome.

It will be an evening of traditional Christmas hymns featuring the musicianship of Eric Goodman, Rob Farmer, Jeanne Anne Aukofer, and Michael Aukofer.

On Wednesday, Nov. 29, there will be two shows at 6 and 7:30 p.m. at West Ridge Community Church, 3300 Encounter Lane.

The third concert will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 215 Thomas More Drive. Visit www.acqmusic.com.

This fall, the quartet recently released its fourth studio album, "Joyful, Joyful." It is available for digital download on CDBaby and at the concerts this 2017 season.
