Lovitsch, Grayslake North warm to the task
Grayslake North's girls basketball team and Sidney Lovitsch stayed hot Tuesday night.
Lovitsch scored 22 points, as the visiting Knights beat Barrington 49-47 in nonconference action.
Sydney Paez added 11 points for Grayslake North (9-2), which hiked its winning streak to eight games.
Warren 53, Mundelein 35: Jordyn Hughes (25 points) and Kaylen Dickson (22) accounted for most of the scoring for the host Blue Devils (9-3, 3-2) in North Suburban Conference play. Mundelein slipped to 3-6 and 1-4.
Prospect 59, Wauconda 47: Junior guard Emily Frasco drained six 3s and finished with a career-high 35 points as the visiting Knights won a nonconference matchup. Margherite Pettenuzzo had 6 points for Prospect (4-5), which won its second straight.
Allie Tylka had a team-best 20 points, which included an 8-for-8 effort at the foul line, for Wauconda. She also had 3 rebounds, an assist and 3 steals.
Katie Rossetti had 14 points, 3 rebounds and a steal for the Bulldogs (5-5).
Libertyville 60, Marian Central 28: At Lake Zurich, as part of the Exam Jamm, the Wildcats cruised behind Claire Keefe's 15 points and Caroline Frea's 12.
Maggie O'Sullivan and Riley Weis each had 7 points for Libertyville (5-5).
"We got a lot of production from our entire team, and that was good to see," Wildcats coach Greg Pedersen said.
Carmel 44, Grayslake Central 42: On Monday night, Katie Lach scored 15 points to lead host Carmel Catholic to a 44-42 girls basketball victory over Grayslake Central in nonconference play.
Ranya Jamison added 9 points for Carmel (7-3), which snapped Grayslake Central's six-game winning streak.
Amanda Larson had 14 points and 4 steals for Grayslake Central (6-4). Maura Fitzgerald added 9 points and 2 steals, while Ania Barnes had 7 points and 8 rebounds. Kate Bullman contributed 7 points and 6 rebounds.
