Nominations sought for Lake County Stormwater Awards

The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission is seeking nominations for its annual Stormwater Awards Program, which recognizes outstanding efforts by organizations, communities, groups and individuals to improve water quality, reduce flooding, and help restore the natural drainage system.

Awards are given in the following categories: Community of the Year; Best Management Practice of the Year; Development of the Year; Education, Outreach, and Media Award; Richard A. Welton Stormwater Manager of the Year; and Stewardship of the Year.

Nominations due Dec. 2, and can me emailed in PDF format to stormwater@lakecountyil.gov, or mailed to LCSMC, 2019 Stormwater Awards, 500 W. Winchester Road, Suite 201, Libertyville, IL 60048.

The presentation ceremony is tentatively set during an upcoming SMC meeting in early 2020 at the Central Permit Facility in Libertyville.
