Batavia Chamber names membership coordinator

BATAVIA - Shirley Mott of Batavia was recently named the new membership coordinator of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce.

She takes over duties previously fulfilled by Margaret Perreault, who was appointed president and CEO of the Chamber last month.

Mott has been a member of the Batavia chamber since 2008. She operates a home-based content writing and public relations business. As a chamber member, Mott served as a director on the group's board and as an ambassador. She was named Ambassador of the Year for 2016.

Mott said she hopes to utilize her strengths to not only help the Chamber grow, but to increase awareness of the organization and its members.

She has lived in Batavia with her family since 1990. Mott served six years on the board of directors for Batavia United Way and was a member of Batavia MainStreet's house walk committee. Prior to operating her own business, she and her husband owned and operated a specialty industrial supply distributorship in West Chicago.
