Antioch snaps losing streak

Dan Filippone scored 21 points, including three 3-pointers, and Antioch's boys basketball team snapped a seven-game losing streak by beating visiting Round Lake 61-48 in Northern Lake County Conference action Friday night.

Reece Eldridge added 14 points for the Sequoits (7-14, 3-8).

Zach Kuligoski scored 24 points (four 3-pointers) for Round Lake 2-19, 0-11.

Grayslake Central 58, Lakes 39: Alec Novak had 16 points in the Northern Lake County game, and the host Rams knocked down nine 3-pointers in winning their third in a row.

Sidney Goodman and Justin Shepley scored 14 and 10 points, respectively, for Grayslake Central (9-13, 5-6). The Rams got three 3s from Novak and two apiece from Goodman, Shepley and Billy Drevline.

Lakes (9-13, 5-6) was led by Kyle Rohr's 13 points. Ian Haflinger had 8 points for the Eagles.

Maine East 52, Vernon Hills 49: The visiting Cougars fell short despite a big game from Chris Mariella, who finished with 26 points on 12-for-18 shooting from the field.

P. Foster had 7 points and a team-best 7 rebounds for Vernon Hills, which slipped to 4-21 overall and 1-7 in the CSL North.
