Learn how to spot fake nutrition news at Mt. Prospect library event

From self-styled "experts" peddling products to sensationalist media headlines designed to catch your attention and uninformed professionals who haven't kept up with the research, there's a bewildering array of sources of misinformation about health and nutrition out there.

The Mount Prospect Public Library will host an event at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 to help separate fact from fiction and provide science-based answers to patrons' questions.

Nutrition expert Joan Davis, RN, MS, will discuss practical approaches to evaluating nutritional claims and tell those who attend where to find reliable information.
