Women's Club of Inverness sparkles at annual fundraiser
Women's Club of Inverness hosted its annual fall fundraiser, Sip and Sparkle, Thursday, Nov. 7, with 245 guests in attendance at the Meridian Banquet & Conference Center in Rolling Meadows.
The event raised upward of $20,000 to fund local social agencies and scholarships.
The beneficiaries of Women's Club of Inverness philanthropy are mainly women, children, families and seniors.
The event featured wine tastings provided by Garfield's of Palatine. Guests had the opportunity to shop among 34 area vendors. Other features of the event included 12 wine region inspired raffle baskets, a Bubbles and Baubles sale, and a Heads or Tails (50/50) game. A plated lunch completed the afternoon.
Event chairs Pam Panczyk and Julie O'Hara are quoted as saying, "We are grateful to our sponsors, guests and the members of the Women's Club of Inverness who stepped up to make this a successful event.
"We tried some new fundraising ideas, Bubbles and Baubles and Heads or Tails, that our guests enjoyed, and they paid off. We couldn't be happier with the positive response we had to Sip and Sparkle. Our guests had a great time, and we were able to raise a lot of money to benefit our community. "
The Women's Club of Inverness is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization following a philanthropic mission for more than 50 years.
