Sheriff offers citizens police academy
The Lake County Sheriff's Office will host a Citizens Police Academy beginning March 14. The academy is open to all Lake County residents aged 18 or older, of good moral character and no felony convictions. Applicants will get an in-depth view of all sheriff's office responsibilities, including corrections, highway patrol, court security, criminal and crash investigations, evidence processing and more. There is no charge for the course which will meet for about three hours once a week through May 23. Classes will be held at the sheriff's office headquarters in Waukegan and substation in Libertyville.
