Monart Drawing Studio announces its Virtual Spring Student Art Exhibit
In the past, spring has been a time for celebrating and exhibiting the Monart Drawing Studio students' works during a very special unveiling reception.
Unfortunately, once again, due to the health concerns, there will not be a public gathering.
Instead, Monart Drawing Studio will share the amazing works from students ages 4 years to adult in a showcase highlighting the art and creativity of these talented individuals. This special multimedia slideshow presentation will be accessible through the Monart Drawing Studio website beginning May 15.
More than 100 works of various media - watercolor, marker, graphite, oil pastel, colored pencil, chalk pastel, gouache and acrylic will be displayed along with the name and age of the artist on each piece.
Monart owner/director Ellen Sharpe says, "Our beautiful and vibrant exhibit of student work demonstrates the profound impact of art instruction and being able to provide a framework for so many to express their unique vision of the world around them."
The Monart method is one where students are taught the five basic elements of shape. Even more importantly, the process is done in a nurturing, noncompetitive environment. Everyone learns that there is no right or wrong in art and no mistakes.
"When I began this journey," Sharpe says, "it was with the hope that I could establish an art school which would positively impact lives. I have witnessed firsthand what we have been able to achieve with so many of our students literally growing up with us. We have made a difference, which I hear repeatedly, and I am so incredibly grateful for what I truly cherish as my extended family."
The studio is the only licensed Monart School in Illinois. For over 25 years, the studio has offered ongoing classes for children 4½ years through adult, teaching the steps to realistic drawing.
The Monart Drawing Studio is at 628 S. Arthur in Arlington Heights, and the online gallery of its students' works can be accessed at www.sharpeexpressions.com.
