Elgin police investigating Wednesday night shooting

Police are investigating a shooting Wednesday night in Elgin, officials said.

A 23-year-old man was shot just after 10:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of Mark Avenue, according to a post on the Elgin Police Department's Facebook Page. The man was taken to the hospital by a friend, and his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, police said.
