Truck rollover closes Route 53 ramp at Lake-Cook Road

The ramp from northbound Route 53 to eastbound Lake-Cook Road near Long Grove was shut down for more than 3½ hours Wednesday morning after a semitrailer truck carrying a load of lumber spilled its payload, Illinois State Police said.

One person was taken to a hospital after the 4:29 a.m. crash, but authorities could not disclose that person's condition or relation to the accident Wednesday afternoon.

The flatbed truck was on its side in a ditch near the road, Sigalert initially reported.

Towing crews responded to the scene to clear the debris and motorists were urged to avoid the area during the morning commute. The ramp reopened about 8:10 a.m., authorities said.
