Police: Robber may have struck Waukegan bank again

Waukegan police say a man suspected of robbing a bank in February may have struck the same bank again on Friday.

Officers responded at 12:50 p.m. to an alarm at the BMO Harris Bank, 3113 N. Lewis Ave, where witnesses described the robber - who did not display or mention a weapon - as a black man, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 160 to 170 pounds. The man also was wearing a distinctive baseball cap with the word BOSS on it, which was embroidered with gems or costume jewelry, according a police department news release.

The man ran away from the bank with an undisclosed sum, the release said.

Police said a man of a similar description robbed the same bank Feb. 23 and also didn't display or mention a weapon, then ran away.

The Waukegan police and the FBI are investigating both robberies. Anyone with information is asked to call the Investigations Division tip line at (847) 360-9001.
