Trump's trust hurt by not releasing taxes
According to the IRS, Donald Trump is free to release his tax forms. The IRS has no restriction on their release even though they are under audit. In spite of that, Trump refuses to do so and continues to use the IRS audit as an excuse.
He promises to release them once the audit is complete, but that is meaningless. If prior years are cleared, why doesn't he release them?
I understand there may be more than one year's forms being audited. It appears that with clever accountants and lawyers, his audits may be stalled for who knows how long.
So, with no legitimate excuse, he still delays. Why would someone take a big hit on his image during an election campaign unless he has something worse to hide?
Theories include: He isn't doing as well financially as his public image implies. He hasn't made contributions to match all the charitable pledges he has made. He has dealings with embarrassing business partners. He has done something shady that would ruin his image. He is afraid the forms would show contradictions to his campaign.
The bottom line is, how can he expect trust when he hides his business dealings and lies about it?
