Lake Zurich police seek public input as it works toward accreditation
An assessment team from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), will be in Lake Zurich next week to examine all aspects of the police department's policy and procedures, management, operations and support services, Chief Steve Husak announced Monday.
Verification that the police department meets the commission's state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation - a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence.
As part of the assessment, the public is invited to offer comments at an information session at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, in the village hall board room, 70 E. Main St., Lake Zurich.
Comments also can be offered by telephone by calling (847) 307-4602 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 9, or in writing to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc., 13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320, Gainesville, VA 20155.
