12 deportation protesters arrested; Congress Parkway reopened
NBC 5 is reporting that 12 protesters have been arrested after blocking downtown traffic on Congress Parkway during the morning commute.
The demonstrators were calling for an end to all immigrations raids.
According to ABC 7, all roads reopened at 9:30 a.m.
Demonstrators lined up in a chain, holding hands across the street and sitting atop ladders, according to NBC 5. The protest was being held by the Organized Communities Against Deportation and was held outside the Regional Immigration and Customs Enforcement Field Office at 101 W. Congress.
