Gurnee interchange work mostly finished

Officials at the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority say most of the work at the Grand Avenue Interchange in Gurnee has been completed, with the exit ramp from westbound I-94 to westbound Grand Avenue reopening Thursday and the lanes on I-94 shifting back to their normal configuration. The agency said it planned on Friday to reopen the ramp from eastbound Grand Avenue to westbound I-94. The ramp from westbound I-94 to eastbound Grand Avenue has been reduced from two lanes to one lane, but work there is continuing. Weather permitting, officials say they may be able to reopen the second lane this year.
