Carmel connects for win against Grant
Emma Bartz homered and drove in 3 runs, Jen Giesey had a double and 3 RBI, and Carmel Catholic's softball team outslugged host Grant 15-5 in a nonconference game Friday.
Bartz, Giesey and Claire Petrus (2 RBI, 2 runs) all went 2-for-4 for the Corsairs (7-1), who pounded out 16 hits. Taylor Ganan was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Petrus earned the win, striking out six, walking two and allowing 6 hits.
