Former Sen. Stevenson, wife win award

Former U.S. Sen. Adlai E. Stevenson III and his wife, Nancy, are the recipients of Stevenson High School's 2016 Heritage Award. The Lincolnshire school is named after Stevenson's father, a former governor, presidential candidate and ambassador. The award is given to people who "have made a significant impact on the school," according to a news release. The couple now serve with the Adlai Stevenson Center on Democracy in Lake County.
