Oak Brook church holds supply drive for Ukrainian refugees
Christ Church in Oak Brook is mounting an immediate drive to collect and ship critical relief materials to Europe to aid Ukrainian refugees, whose ranks are expected to exceed 1 million.
"Alongside our prayers, Christ Church is moving to provide assistance to the people of Ukraine in two ways," said the Rev. Dr. Daniel Meyer, lead pastor. "First, we are making a special grant to World Vision, which is already in-country providing aid to suffering people. Secondly, we are mounting a Supply Drive that will ship needed relief materials to Christian partners in Poland, where Ukrainian refugees are fleeing in significant numbers."
Through Saturday, the church is accepting donations of new or gently used clothing and shoes for children, women and men, and new blankets and other warm covers, at its Oak Brook campus, 501 Oak Brook Road. Items can be deposited inside the rear door of the large, white truck parked in the front parking lot, between Doors 1 and 17.
