A sour experience with appointment syste

Well, you wrote the editorial, but obviously didn't attempt to make an appointment for a driver's road test at Lake Zurich facility! You say "call sour grapes" but I say "deserved."

I called the morning of Sept. 1 before 8:50, waited for 19 callers ahead of me and then was served by a very nice young man, Michael.

However, getting any appointment at Lake Zurich was a fool's errand. They had no appointments at any time in September.

I asked if I could do as I have in the past, be there in line at 6:45 to get my road test, and was told that all appointments were filled.

My license needs to be renewed, but how is this to be accomplished? He could not offer anything but that I try the myriad SOS offices in hopes of finding an open time for a road test. He suggested I try calling next Tuesday and see if any appointments had been added. Wouldn't my dentist or other medical people with whom I want to make an appointment love using such a strange system?

Before you say "sour grapes," try the suggested system and see if you can arrange the supposedly simple appointment.
