How could they not get the hint?
On Friday morning, my husband and I voted at the Vernon Township offices. The line snaked outside the building into the parking lot and our wait was just over one-half hour. There was a group of five people not too far ahead of us from two separate families whose indifference toward others around them caught my attention during the wait.
Two to three of these people chose to stand outside the line, which caused them to block people trying to exit and enter the building. Numerous people were forced to walk in the dirt near the shrubs to accommodate this group's socializing. The situation didn't improve any when the line moved into the building since others still had to squeeze past.
Amazingly, the number of people saying "excuse me" didn't give this group a wake-up that they were being extremely inconsiderate.
I should have found a township employee to ask them to stay in line, but I didn't want to start an argument and I assumed they would eventually stop blocking people.
Finally just prior to the polling area, a township employee did ask them to stop blocking the hallway.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that some people feel entitled.
