Softball: Stevenson hits it big in Florida

Stevenson's softball team brought out the bats on the final day of its spring-break trip to Florida.

Mic Faunce and Emma Oriatti each had 5 RBI in the Patriots' 15-0, four-inning win over Willoughby South (Ohio) in Titusville. Faunce finished 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and a triple. Oriatti was 2-for-3 with a double. Myra Peterson and Gina Shanley contributed RBI singles.

Peterson earned the win, allowing just 3 hits in the four innings.

Elyria 6, Stevenson 3: In Florida, facing another opponent from Ohio, the Patriots lost despite 2 hits apiece from Vera Pflugradt and Trisha Porzycki.

Porzycki and Emma Oriatti had doubles.

Oak Harbor 5, Stevenson 1: At Titusville, Fla., the Patriots lost, as the Ohio opponent pounded out 10 hits.

Trisha Porzycki's first-inning sacrifice fly gave Stevenson its only run. Vera Pflugradt went 2-for-4, while Sara Brodson doubled.

Stevenson 15, Episcopal Academy 10: On Wednesday, in Florida, Alana Labaschin and Gina Stanley homered for the Patriots, who earned their first win of the season.

Emma Oriatti led an 11-hit attack by going 4-for-5 with a double and 3 RBI. Vera Pflugradt was 2-for-4 with 3 runs scores, and winning-pitcher Myra Peterson also doubled.
