Powerful drama and daring adventure in theatre performances Mar. 10, 11, 12 at Grayslake Central High School

Encore! at Grayslake Central High School transports theatre audiences from a haunting illustration of love's triumph over hate in a small Scottish village to a turbulent battle on the high seas as they present The Women of Lockerbie and Peter and the Starcatcher during 3 performances Mar. 10 - 12.

The Women of Lockerbie recalls the 1988 terrorist attack on Pan Am Flight 103 which was tragically bombed over the village of Lockerbie Scotland, claiming the lives of 259 passengers and crew members plus 11 residents killed by the falling wreckage. In this poetic drama by Deborah Brevoort, the women of Lockerbie seek to transcend the hatred of the attack by washing the clothing of the dead to return to their families - despite an unyielding U.S. government official - to help grieving families find closure.

An orphan imprisoned on a ship collaborates with his friends and an ambitious young apprentice of the covert Starcatcher Society to protect the world from evil in Peter and the Starcatcher, by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. They outwit the menacing pirate Black Stache and overcome obstacles to safeguard celestial starstuff as they explore the capacity of commitment, friendship, and love to combat greed. With the starstuff's power to fulfill dreams, the orphan transforms into Peter Pan, who will never grow old.
