Arlington Heights village manager joins chamber board

Arlington Heights Village Manager Randy Recklaus has been appointed to a nonvoting position on the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce's board of directors.

The village board last week confirmed the appointment. Village President Tom Hayes said it will be another way "of furthering our relationship with the chamber, which I think has really flowered over the last number of years."

Recklaus will attend meetings to share information with the chamber and gain insight to bring back to village hall, Hayes said.

Trustee Thomas Glasgow said he would like to reassess in a year if Recklaus should be a voting member of the chamber board since the village is the largest monetary contributor to the organization.

"If we've got skin in the game I'd like us to have some say in the game," he said.
