Eirich steps down at Bartlett

Bartlett girls basketball coach Joe Eirich stepped down for personal reasons Wednesday morning.

Eirich was placed on administrative leave last Thursday.

Kristi Ragan, a Bartlett assistant, coached Tuesday night when the Hawks defeated Glenbard East in the Class 4A Lake Park regional semifinals.

Bartlett (23-8), the fifth seed in the Hoffman Estates sectional, plays No. 3 Lake Park (22-8) for the regional title Thursday night. The teams played earlier this season with the Hawks winning 66-63.

This was Eirich's first year as the Bartlett head coach. The longtime assistant took over after Brad Hunt passed away in June.
