Boy, 17, charged in Chicago sidewalk shooting that killed 2
CHICAGO (AP) - A 17-year-old boy has been charged in a March shooting along a Chicago sidewalk that left two men dead and two others wounded on the city's South Side, police said.
The teen was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder after he was identified as the shooting suspect, Chicago police said.
He was expected to appear in court Friday, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
The boy allegedly opened fire March 21 on a group of people who were on a sidewalk in the city's South Shore neighborhood. Deshawn Champion, 32, and Antonio Wilson, 23, died at local hospitals from their gunshot wounds, authorities said.
Two other men, both 31, were wounded in the attack, while a 20-year-old man who was with the other men on the sidewalk was shot at but was not wounded by gunfire, police said.
