Justice Conference founder to speak at Judson

Ken Wytsma will speak during Judson University's chapel service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, in Herrick Chapel, 1151 N. State St., Elgin.

The event is free and open to the public.

Wytsma is a consultant and creative adviser to nonprofits and speaks on justice, church and culture. He teaches courses on philosophy and justice at Kilns College, where he also is the college president. He founded the Justice Conference - an annual international event addressing issues, featuring organizations and conversations about justice - and is a church planter and lead pastor of Antioch Church in Bend, Oregon.

He received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Clemson University and master's degrees in philosophy and biblical studies. He also has written two books: "Pursuing Justice: The Call to Live and Die for Bigger Things" (2012) and "The Grand Paradox: The Messiness of Life, the Mystery of God and the Necessity of Faith" (2015).

Judson University in Elgin is among Christian Universities Online's top "50 Most Beautiful Christian Colleges and Universities" for 2016.

Christian Universities Online is an independent online resource for students and families researching Christian higher education. It publishes rankings and reviews of Christian colleges and universities, information about scholarships and financial aid, and other resources.

Judson ranked No. 41. The website included institutions that were member or member eligible of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, and colleges were evaluated and scored based on: continuity of campus, architectural style, signature buildings, and natural setting.

Judson was cited for its "unique and modern architectural style."

"Judson's campus is well designed, conveniently located off a main road and set between a large wooded area and residential neighborhoods," the website noted.
